BaseArt is a welcoming ceramics studio in Llanbradach, near Caerphilly, where beginners and experienced makers can create, learn and belong in a self-guided environment.So, unlike other pottery studios, we don't impose what you can make and when you can make it!Book a studio desk by the hour, half day or full day. We also offer weekly group studio sessions for regular group participation and community.And, if you're completely new to the pottery/ceramics world, we offer short 'welcome to ceramics' courses and inductions to show you the basics and build your confidence.

Weekly Group Studio Sessions
Our popular weekly group studio sessions for regular participants (max. 8 people).
These take place on:
Monday morning(10am - 12.30pm),Tuesday morning (10am - 12.30pm)
Tuesday evening (6pm - 8.30pm),Wednesday evening (6pm - 8.30pm).Sessions are £20 per week, or as a discounted block of 4 sessions.

Introducing the BaseArt Family
Established since 2014 we are a small ceramic studio based in Llanbradach, Caerphilly.
Owned by full-time ceramic artist and tutor, Susan Zeppellini, BaseArt is a welcoming space for anyone looking to work with clay and produce pieces for pleasure or additional income.

With a first-class honors BA degree in Art Practice, from South Wales University, in figurative ceramics.
Susan has spent much of her life dedicated to the arts and creativity.Born in 1954 to an immigrant Italian family in Brazil, Susan Zeppellini has been a resident of the UK since 1989, initially settling in London before moving to Wales in 2007.She's an artist who works with clay, creating sculptures, and paintings, inviting viewers on a visual and tactile journey. Her artistic process is organic, reflecting a deep connection to her materials.Her artistic and creative career has included roles in advertising agencies like Norton and SGB, owning a dance school, and working as a designer in the clothing industry.Notably, she was the first female painter for a Formula One team, working on race cars and motorcycles, a role that further honed her artistic skills.
Meet the 'Pottery Dog' - Louie
The first time you walk into BaseArt you're going to be welcomed by the resident studio dog, Louie (a Frenchie).Louie is a frequent visitor to everyone in the studio, especially when there is a chance of having a biscuit or treat!He's as much a part of the studio as everyone who attends, and now he's getting on in years, you'll usually find him snoozing in his basket.

Terms & Conditions
Introduction
These terms apply to all bookings, use of the BaseArt studio and use of this website. By booking a session or using this site, you agree to the terms below.Bookings & Payment
All sessions must be booked online and paid in full at the time of booking, unless previously agreed by BaseArt. A booking is only confirmed once payment has been received.Session Times
Sessions run to fixed time slots. Please arrive on time. Late arrival does not extend your session.Cancellations & Rescheduling
Bookings may be rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the session are non-refundable.Studio Use
BaseArt provides access to a shared ceramics workspace for adults (no under 16s). This is not a taught environment. Users are responsible for their own work and decisions within the studio.Equipment & Materials
All equipment must be used responsibly and in line with any guidance provided. Misuse of equipment is not permitted.Damage
Any damage to equipment, tools or the studio caused by misuse or negligence may be charged to the user, this includes kiln explosions due to poor making, or damage to other people's work.Health & Safety
All users must follow studio guidelines and basic health and safety practices at all times.Liability
BaseArt accepts no responsibility for injury, loss or damage resulting from the use of the studio, except where required by law.Personal Property
Items brought into the studio are at the owner’s risk. BaseArt is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings or work.Right of Refusal
BaseArt reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any individual whose behaviour is unsafe, disruptive or inappropriate, without refund.Photography & Media
From time to time, BaseArt may take photographs or videos within the studio for use on its website, social media and promotional materials.
